Absolutely beautiful for this price range and beyond - bolt/receiver could use a covering shroud to improve the metal looks - blue on the bolt knob is thin/poor but barrel and receiver is deep and rich (this is my second Savage bolt knob that is poorly blued - the other is a cheaper .22 mag) - wood to metal fit is excellent and AccuTrigger is all it is cracked up to be though I do have a few more expensive, adjustible triggers that are still better. - Accuracy is way beyond its price range - .25" for 10 shot groups at 50 yards with Remington Standard velocity ammo and with CCI Velocitor using a compact 6x Leupold AO scope and sand bags. In 2007 I was able to delete 81 starlings with 86 shots and 18 sweet corn stealing raccoon with 18 shots and in 2008 17 raccoon with 17 shots as well as 7 head shot skunks with 7 shots that refused to leave my bird dogs along in the back yard. I've owned many .22's but this one and my ancient Remington 581-S are ranked at the top of the heap and cost one half to one eighth what the others costs. Mount a good scope like a Leupold or Burris (made in thre good old US of A) and you'll rarely have reason for misses with this fine plinker.
